Compassion
is the willingness
to play
in the field of dreams
even though
you are awake.

Avantika, I'm so glad for the visit.

And I was very happy for the reminder/excuse to visit your blog. I always enjoy your insights.

A zen koan - a monk asks the master “What is compassion?” The reply is, “It is like groping for the pillow in the dark while you are sleeping.”

That is, it is something so natural you are not even conscious of it. Wonderful to contemplate why that is not the case for everyone, or is it, if we could only find our True Self. (exercise left for the reader...)
